Many Capetonians long cherished the desire for a truly world-class aquarium in the Mother City. It is remarkable that it took so long for this dream to become a reality, after all, Cape Town is the original link between the land and the sea for all of Southern Africa. It is also here that the cold water of the Atlantic meets the warmer Indian Ocean. Few places in the world are in a more favourable position to feature the flora and fauna of oceans so different in temperature and the life they support.
When you plan to visit the Two Oceans Aquarium, it is recommended to allow 1 to 2 hours to enjoy the diverse and magnificent displays. Please wear comfortable shoes.
If you would like to be taken on a guided tour, please ask for assistance at Visitor Services. Our volunteers are available to assist with any questions you may have so please look out for them.

Founded in December 2001 by Hank and Tracy Chalmers, Eagle Encounters is a bird of prey rehabilitation, education, conservation and eco-tourism centre. As a self-funded, non-profit establishment, we rely on the income generated by tourism to drive our numerous programmes. The long-term vision is to do our part in preserving the eco-environment, by protecting birds of prey through the release of prime rehabilitation candidates, and through creating community awareness.
Eagle Encounters' core function is the rehabilitation of birds of prey. We receive birds that have been injured; poisoned or illegally removed from nests, our primary objective in every case being to release a healthy; fit; successfully hunting and able-breeding raptor back into the wild.
Experience has taught us that rehabilitation without education is fruitless. Our children deserve to inherit the gift of a balanced eco-system; an environment that is teeming with vital, self-sustainable life! Whilst education provides the building blocks that promote awareness and direction, interaction forms the corner stones between a passive understanding and an active will to conserve.

Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden is world-renowned for the beauty and diversity of the Cape flora it displays and for the magnificence of its setting against the eastern slopes of Table Mountain.
Kirstenbosch grows only indigenous South African plants. The estate covers 528 hectares and supports a diverse fynbos flora and natural forest. The cultivated garden (36 hectares) displays collections of South African plants, particularly those from the winter rainfall region of the country. It was founded in 1913, read about the History of the Garden.
The Visitors' Centre includes an information desk and various retail outlets and a coffee shop. The Centre for Home Gardening has outlets for plants and other services to support the home garden. The largest tropical butterfly park in Africa where butterflies fly freely in a beautiful covered garden. Come to our craft shop, have refreshments in the coffee garden or check out our informative displays! We're open Monday to Sunday from 09h00 to 17h00. Groups welcome!

From the start on the launch platform a new world unfolds as one gently glides on a steel cable to the first platform. All groups are escorted through the forest canopy by a lead guide and a fellow guide to ensure your safety as you move from tree to tree.
The platforms, built high up in the giant Outeniqua Yellowwoods, provide an unbelievable view of this enchanting world. Spend a couple of minutes relaxing while your guides enthusiastically explain the ecology of the forest pointing out different tress and magnificent giant ferns way below.

Welcome to Witzenberg Game Park's website! Situated in the Breede River Valley and approximately one and a half hour's drive from Cape Town, the farm is abundant with birdlife and wildlife. There are a number of other activities in and around the farm, such as bush walks amongst the animals, swimming, hikes up to a beautiful panoramic waterfall and sunset drives up to the foot of the Witzenberg mountain, led by official guides.
Drakenstein Lion Park is involved in the re-homing of lions which are kept in intolerable conditions, both locally and overseas. The Park is one of a dedicated handful that opposes the hunting of captive born lion and does everything in its power top acquire lions destined for hunting farms, and provide these animals with a safe haven.
The park is situated on 7.5 hectares of ground in the scenic Cape Winelands. One can stroll through the park at your leisure and view these magnificent beasts at eye level or get a bird's eye from one of the raised viewing platforms.
All of the lions housed at the Park are captive born / hand reared animals and cannot be rehabilitated into the wild. They are ensured a safe haven where they can live out their lives in as natural conditions as is practically possible.
Visitors to Monkeyland are taken on monkey safaris in our indigenous forest by our game rangers. On these safaris you can expect to see many species of monkeys ranging from the Gibbons of Asia and Howlers from South America to the Lemurs of Madagascar. All our primates behave, feed and live in a natural environment. At Monkeyland you are privileged to step into their world to explore, and learn fascinating facts about primates, first hand.
Our knowledgeable ranges will tell you all about these fascinating creatures as you encounter them free roaming in our magnificent forest. They will also point out, identify and explain the many wonders, of the wild from the rich diversity of bird life to the intricate working of our indigenous forest. Part of the safari, for those who wish, includes walking across a rope bridge which spans a canyon above the forest canopy giving you a birds eye view of a section of the forest and its inhabitants otherwise seldom seen.
Featherbed Nature Reserve, a unique 150 ha private Nature Reserve, encompasses the whole of the Western Head of Knysna and is one of South Africa's Natural Heritage Sites. It is home to two of the Garden Route's icons, namely the Knysna Loerie and the Blue Duiker, one of Africa's smallest antelope species. Other wildlife found on the Reserve include Cape Mountain Tortoises, Blue Cranes (South Africa's national bird), rare Black African Oyster Catchers (listed in the endangered Red Data List), White breasted cormorant, Bushbuck and more!

Newlands, home of Western Province Cricket, has been described by many, together with the Adelaide Oval in Australia, as one of the most beautiful cricket grounds in the World. Nestled behind and at the foot of Table Mountain it is one of the most picturesque places in the world to watch cricket.
Over the past five years numerous changes have been made to the ground. This has slightly taken away from its former splendor. Large portions of the grass embankments have been replaced by pavilions increasing the seating capacity to 25,000. Newlands is one of the few grounds in South Africa that assists spin bowlers borne out by the fact that many of South African spinners have come from the Western Cape. The pitch is also very conducive to results with a small percentage of Tests played ending up as drawn. Newlands is also favoured with a Mediterranean winter rainfall climate allowing for perfect weather to watch and play cricket in.

Over the centuries it has become one of South Africa's most famous landmarks. The steep cliffs and rocky outcrops of the mountain play home to a number of plants and animals. The mountain is home to approximately 1470 species of plants; more than the entire British Isles!
Complimenting this vast array of flora is a stunning range of fauna, some, like the Table Mountain Ghost Frog, being found in no other place in the world.
There are a few exciting changes in the works for Cableway Catering! The two venues conventionally used for private functions, namely The Cocktail Bar and Summit Room, has been upgraded to become a retail activity centre for the season.
